Oude Markt Panorama

I never paid much attention to this street. Few days ago I was going to town and had to go this way to cut some corners. I really like this street, the buildings and the gate. Perfect for panorama!

With my camera and tripod set, I went for first round. Whenever I’m shooting panorama I like to use manual focus. It happened to me in the past that I trusted my camera and did few panoramas in autofocus…In 99% it’s okay, but one time I took amazing panorama of a great sunset and when I came home I looked at those images and realized that the third and the last shots were slightly out of focus. I couldn’t use it, it was blurred! It was very disappointing and since then I always change it to manual focus. This panorama was quite easy compare to some other ones. There was a bit of distortion on the edges but nothing that I couldn’t correct in post.

I hope you like this image, please if you do let me know and give it a thumbs up.

Sunrise at Visvijver

I hope you had great Sunday and enjoyed the sunrise same as I did!!! It’s one of those sunrises where I like to sit back and relax and let the camera do the thing. I did quite a beautiful timelapse from this spot.

I set my camera to take a picture every 5 seconds in a fully manual mode. 2 hours later and the timelapse was finished. I packed everything and went for a walk. It was amazing!!! Whole day in front of me…

I hope you like this shot. Please if you do, let me know and give it a thumbs up…

Bridge over Keutelbeek Panorama

I took this picture yesterday when I was going to Kollenberg. I always go through Stadspark and look for a good opportunities to take some great pictures. I like to look for new angles and just play with my camera until I get something interesting enough to hang on my wall. I simply love panorama images for the fact that you can fit a lot into one frame. This image is almost 180 degree.

The process seems to be evolving every time I take a new panorama. There is always something new that comes to my mind that I like to try, if it’s camera settings or simply the way how I hold my camera when doing the panorama. In nature, it’s not necessary to overlay the images too much. I found that about 15-20% is enough…This pano has been done with 8 images. If you have a lot of shapes, straight lines or bricks on the ground, it’s a different story. In overall It’s easier to make panorama in nature than in the city.

But anyway, I hope you like this image, please if you do, let me know and give it a thumbs up…

Looking at this picture, it feels like looking straight into hell…I love pictures like that. It’s as pure as you can imagine. No special effects!!! How it came from my camera, that’s how you see it right now. The only thing I have done here was to crop the image and re-sized it.

Recently SOLD! 120 x 80 canvas print

Keep up the good work!!!

Sittard Trend Work Arena

This is by far the largest panorama I’ve ever done. I took 18 images to cover the whole thing. From the the street down below, the building looks huge! Looking at the shape of the roof, I was skeptical if it’s going to work. One of the biggest problem I had to deal with was how much bending the panorama will create…I decided to give it a try anyway. After a third attempt I was happy with the result.

There is that big moment when you scroll through the images and it looks amazing!!! I like to call it THE BIG SCROLL. It’s the moment of the true and if it’s good, it’s time to move on.

It was an amazing day and I took few pictures on the other side too. I wanted to go into the stadium but it was closed…I hope I will be lucky next time…

Please if you do give it a thumbs up…

155/365 Sittard Car Park – All About Sunset

Sittard Car Park – All About Sunset

A few days ago I was sitting in the train, coming back from Maastricht and I was watching this beautiful sunset from the window. I was so impatient for the train to go faster so that I don’t miss it. As soon as the train stooped, I run out to the top of car park next to the train station and was hoping to catch the remaining beauty of this wonderful sunset.

Beautiful clouds that spread across the sky covered in golden color were taking my breath away. I wanted a shot that would fit all that beauty in. I set up for panorama and took 8 images and pretty much got it all in. Confident that I’ve got it, I took my time to really enjoy the remaining bits of Sun rays, until it faded completely.

Such an amazing time!!! I hope you like this image too, please if you do, give it a thumbs up…

154/365 Sunrise At Winston Churchilllaan

Sony NEX 6, 16-50mm Sony lens

Sunrise At Winston Churchilllaan

Today I walked across the town, looking for a spot to take some nice shot of a sunrise. I couldn’t think of something particular, so I kept walking until I reached Winston Churchilllaan. I saw the Sun climbing above the buildings and thought that I could wait there for a while before the Sun gets a bit higher. It was great! I had plenty of time to choose a spot and look for the right angle. When I finally decided from where I could take a shot, the Sun rays were making the scene look amazing. I set up my tripod and did my combo of different exposures which I then later put together in Photoshop by using HDR pro.

In overall this was an amazing morning full of excitement! The air was fresh and I was really glad to be outside…Sometimes it’s hard to get up, but every time I do it, I feel great. Walking the streets and not seeing anyone feels like the streets are yours.

But anyway I hope you like this image. Please if you do, let me know and give it a thumbs up.

Sittard Ursulinentuin

Today I took some time off and went out for a walk. After sitting behind the computer for the whole morning, this was exactly what I need it. I walked through the city and decided to sit down for a while in the park. It was beautiful weather and the trees were really shining. The colors of the trees and the blue sky created great contrast…I was looking for a spot to take a good photo. This corner worked well, because the Sun was behind me, shining on trees and painting the scene with the worm feeling…

To pack as much details as possible into this image, I made panorama with 45% overlay. This way I could also fit in more. I turned my camera vertically and took 6 images. The processing was quite easy on this image. All I have done was to increase the shadows and lower the highlights a bit. Also boost the contrast a bit and clarity…In Photoshop I’ve got rid of some noise…

I hope you like this image. It’s my favorite of the day…Please if you like it let me know and give it a thumbs up.

152/365 Sittard At Night

Sittard At Night

Another very productive day today. I must have edited like 30 photos. After I finished, I decided to for a walk to relax my eyes and and just go around couple of streets to take some fresh air. It was getting darker every minute and the air was chilly. For no particular reason I went to Eisenhowerstraat and around the block of flats. On the way back home, I saw an old man locking his bike outside of the main entrance and going in…I saw an opportunity, so I rushed to catch the door. It was definitely good timing.

I remembered from the first time I was there that I wanted to have a night shot of the road and all the lights shining. I actually promised myself to come back one day to do it. Today without any planing I end up on the 12 floor watching Sittard like this. Such a profound feeling being up there, enjoying this beautiful view. It was AMAZING!!!

I hope you like this night photo of Sittard, please if you do let me know and give it a thumbs up.

Sportstichting Sittard-Geleen

I watched the weather pretty closely yesterday. The clouds were forming descent shapes. I was sure that the sunset is going to be full of great colors. I sat on my bike and cycled to Sportstichting Sittard=Geleen. I’ve been there couple of times in the morning and I took some great pictures, but I knew that it would be much better to come there around sunset. I was a bit lucky yesterday. Few minutes later and the Sun would be gone behind the cloud.

I did my usual ritual of checking the ISO, aperture, shutter speed, white balance and when I was happy I took 9 different exposures to cover the shadows, midtones and highlights. Since I found about the HDR pro plugin in Photoshop I do the exposures manually. There are other ways like bracketing that let you to take up to 6 images in some of the Nikon models, but I still think that it’s better to set the individual exposure myself…

This was a beautiful sunset that let me to this picture. I hope you like it too, please leave a comment and give it a thumbs up…
