Basilica Sittard

I had only one goal in my mind and that was to take a picture of the Basilica in Sittard from an angle that has been least photographed. The idea was to try something totally different. I decided to go with horizontal panorama. First I took 4 images horizontally from the bottom to the top that covered left side of the scene and then I did the same on the right side. When I was happy with the result, I went home to process it. The whole process has been real fun and I have definitely learned few things along the way.

I hope you like it too. Please if you do let me know…

Kerk Van Overhoven

Another place that have been on my list! I was waiting for a good weather to take a shot of this church. I remember in a winter time when I took a picture of it for the first time, I wasn’t really happy with it and wanted to wait until the summer. I think it looks better with green leafs on the trees. It’s more colorful! I hope you like this picture…Please if you do let me know…

Fishing In Limbricht

What an amazing spot! Just the idea to sit there was enjoyable and then seeing those fisherman pulling out descent size fishes added to great feeling. I didn’t wanted to be annoying or causing too much of a noise while making pictures so I made one panorama sequence and then I just sat there quietly. I was great to watch the surroundings and see the castle like this…

Bridge In Born

There is a beautiful path going along the river with few bridges. This one caught my attention on a calm day just few minutes before sunset. I stood there looking at the water thinking how beautiful the reflection was. The water was like a mirror reflecting the bridge and you could see the Sun lighting up one side of the bridge…It was a relaxing moment!!!…

I hope you like the image, please let me know if you do and give it a thumbs up…

Kollenberg Fields

It has been a long time I went to Kollenberg by walk. I like the track that passes through here and goes on the other side around the German border and down to Lahrstraat. Especially around winter you can get amazing colors due to the Sun being very low. It’s awesome there…I went there recently with my camera and took some great images of the fields…This one is one of them…I hope you like it, please let me know if you do and give it a thumbs up…

246/365 Sittard Prison

Sittard Prison

I remember walking around this complex few times before I have chosen from where I will take a shot. At first I thought this is going to be a disaster because of the wall that surrounds this prison. Also when you say prison, people like to connect the word with negative emotions, so I wasn’t sure if to go for it, or not. As I was going around, I was thinking how can I make a picture of this more pleasant, if not beautiful.

I found this spot that worked for me. I liked the position of the Sun and how the path was interacting with the wall. I decided to do a panorama so that later I could cut chunks that were not important and trim the image to how I like it…

I spent there ages to figure it out the best settings possible to not overexposed the sky and balance the foreground just right. I think this was the most challenging image I have done since I started this project…May not be the best image, but I have learned a lot!!!

This is my second panorama i did the same day when I came to this place. (See the first one HERE) I think this one is even better than the first one in my opinion. I like the perspective of the image and the sunset. I like this image, please let me know if you do and give it a thumbs up… 🙂

Limbricht Castle

This was a beautiful day! I cycled for the first time to Limbricht to take some pictures there. I had no idea how amazing this place is. I end up taking a lot of pictures from many angles of this castle. I like how they built it on a hill surrounded by water. Super Amazing!!! Chemelot Chimney

I happened to be there because of my other project for Sittard Geleen and I have to say it’s a great ground for learning long exposure photography. I was looking for a possible place to take some images, so that when I go there on an actual day and with a permission I have an idea from where to take a good shot. Meanwhile I took some long exposure photos from the road and thought I will share one here.

I hope you like it…
