Cycling Path At Sunset

This shot is from few days ago. I cycled around Sittard and Geleen and just before sunset I stopped in a park in Geleen and took this image. I like the area, there are few fields, biking tracks and a pond…Kind of a place where you can spent hours and really enjoy it…Hope you like this image…I like how the Sun sits in those trees, kind of cool…

Kanaal In Born

Just came back from what I think was the best sunset I have seen since I’m here!!! I know I keep saying that quite often, but this one was really extraordinary. I thought I will be late as the Sun was getting down quite quickly, but no, I came there at the right time…Found a good spot and took 8 images from left to right. I loved the colors of the sunset! It was amazing!!! After I was happy with what I’ve got I kept shooting until the Sun was gone…Then cycled quickly back, dropped these images into the computer, quickly edit them and here it is…From all, this sequence really stood out…I hope you like it. Please if you do, let me know and give it a thumbs up…

Overhoven Gelderhof

Few weeks ago I was taking a picture of the church in Overhoven – Gelderhof and I’ve also noticed this rounded block of flats that looked great in a certain light from the position where I’m standing. At the time I was there the Sun was significantly lower which did not create that sort of look I was after. So I decided to do it another day…

Few days back I came to this place again but this time I was there a little earlier to catch more of the Sun rays on the building…I took my camera, set it to lowest ISO, put aperture to f/8 and here I was taking a panorama. I like the final result and I hope you like it too. Please let me know if you do and give it a thumbs up.

Kerk in Einighausen At Sunset

What a beautiful and hot day! 35 Degrees and I’m cycling around Einighausen instead of being on the beach or at least cooling down next to the river or lake…Happy that the camera is at least a bit weather sealed otherwise it would be finished by now…That soft breeze while I was cycling helped a bit but as soon as I stopped to take a picture I would find myself constantly wiping the sweat out of the screen and the camera grip…Incredibly hot, but I did take some nice images along the way…and this is one of them…I hope you like it, please if you do let me know…

Sunset In Geleen

This is one of my favorite shot of a sunset!!! I love the clouds and the Sun reflecting of the water. Same as in Stadspark there is a beautiful pond and couple of walking tracks around the area. Really nice place to walk around sunset time. You don’t feel like being in Geleen at all…Another place where I will be hanging out more often…

I hope you like this picture, please if you let me know.

267/365 Energy Electric Power Plant

Energy Electric Power Plant

There are few great spots in Geleen which I didn’t knew existed! I was there the other day and somehow I ended up on Veeweg going to the local park. Beautiful place with a pond and fields…I got there just before sunset. The Sky was turning orange. I stopped in the middle of a little path that goes back to the city and wanted to take a shot of this energy electric power plant.

From some of my previous attempts I knew that taking multiple shots of the scene similar to this one could be incredibly challenging! Last time I tried to take a panorama of a similar thing, the cables were all over the place, just not where they supposed to be haha.

So I took a different approach. I did the vertical panorama from left to the right with a zoom lens (Sony 55-210mm)…Something I have never tried before. I took 18 shots. See down below:

007

Straight after it I looked at back at my LCD screen to double check it and I loved it. The zoom lens punched on some really nice details and gave the picture different feel than with a wide angle lens. I did swap my lens for the wide angle at the end and tried it with that. The picture end it up good, but the subject looked so tiny and far away in a distance…

Editing this image quite easy. I used the same workflow and it worked fine. I’m happy that the cables came out perfect.  Probably the biggest thing that made the difference was how I was holding the camera. I locked my elbows against my belly and when I was going from left to right I was rotating the camera rather then my whole body. Also I’ve chosen the top of the tower to be my level and I locked onto it while going from left to the right.

But anyway I like this picture a lot, I hope you do too. Please let me know if you do…

Nieuwe Sint Salviuskerk

I took this picture yesterday when I was cycling around looking for new locations. First I looked at online if I could find something interesting to photograph. I typed Limbricht and this church came out first…I went there right away and took this beautiful picture…Then kept cycling to another villages. It was a great day!!!

I hope you like it, please if you do, let me know…

265/365 Sunset From Stadspark

Sunset From Stadspark

I’m blown away how fast the time is going! Now it’s only 100 days until the finish line…Thank you all for your support through sharing and likening my pictures!!!

By the way does anyone know what this structure means and what is the real reason for it? I’ve seen people using it for many different things, from simple playground to some very interesting events, but I could not find any information about what was the original purpose of it. Even I like to go there from time to time and do some pull ups on the bars and use it for all sorts of exercises…Does anyone know what it is?

It was a beautiful sunset when I was there and I didn’t wanted to miss it…I thought I will take a picture from this place as the clouds were very close and almost above it…I thought It looked great and so I took few vertical shots from left to the right. I think it came out great and I wanted to share it with you…Hope you like it, please if you do, let me know and give it a thumbs up…

Dramatic Sky

The sky was fantastic! Some very interesting cloud formations!!! I walked around Kollenberg to see if I can take a shot of this. There are few spots that I had in mind from where I could take nice panorama of the landscape and really bring the clouds to life! I came to this part of Kollenberg and really liked the composition. The decision was made. I started taking images from left to the right. When I was done I checked them to see if they came out good. All were 100%…I felt really good…

Kerkgebouwen Sittard

I took some time before someone removed the old red bus that was standing in front of the door and was so ugly that it put me away from taking a picture from this place. Now it wasn’t there so I took couple of images…First I did a panorama from the front of the building and then I moved to the side to take another sequence…

See below a screen shot:

001

Processing those 12 images was nothing short of a fun. I really like when you see the colors coming together and how much you can affect the whole scene…It’s amazing…I prepared them for an export to Photoshop where it all came together as one.

If you are taking a panorama of buildings, it’s more likely that you are going to have the image bend or even squashed. There is a fun tool under filters called ”adaptive wide angle” that allows you to correct almost any picture that has extreme bending or it’s too around, like in many cases if you are using fish lens…
