Kerk In Bremstraat

Another picture I wanted to do for already a long time! Every time I was cycling to Geleen around the Fortuna stadium I was saying to myself that one day I go there to take a shot. Few weeks ago I sat on my bike and went there straightaway. After a few try and errors I had a good sequence of images to work with. Please let me know if you like it.

Stream After Storm

I have been to Stadspark at least thousand times but have never seen Geleenbeek that violent! It seemed that it’s going to go over the edge flooding the area. I was happy to have a tripod with me. I wanted to smooth the water as much as possible to make it creamy looking. I used 8 stops ND filter, set the camera and did horizontal long exposure panorama. Happy with the result I went home to process those images…Great time taking pictures there and see the stream like this…

I hope you like it…Please let me know if you do.

321/365 Sunset From Bergstraat

Sunset From Bergstraat

I was working on a new website, putting things together for a client when I noticed a beautiful sunset outside. The light came out only for few minutes so I quickly grabbed my camera, opened the door and took this exciting image. Then kept watching the clouds passing by until the Sun disappear behind the horizon…It looked great. Short but AWESOME!!!

Hope you like the image.

Basilica After Storm

There was a storm closing on Sittard when I was walking from Kollenberg. I was hoping that it will start raining soon so that I could go crazy with my camera. I wanted to have some shots before and after the storm. Later on I went to Fort Sunderbout from where I took this shot. It was just after the rain when the Sun was about to shine again. I got soaked but it didn’t matter for the sake of good images.

Hope you like it. Please if you do let me know.

319/365 Sunset At Hospital

Sunset At Hospital

I was going to Geleen to check the center and look around for interesting stuff to photograph. On the way there I released that I was a bit late if I wanted to have a shot of a sunset. I stopped for a shot just before the hospital and caught the Sun nicely. Also took few other images that day in Geleen, but this was one that I liked a lot.

Hope you like it too.

318/365 Achter De Kerk

Achter De Kerk

Tomorrow I will be going to Czech Republic to visit my family and then going to travel in Slovenia. They have beautiful mountains which my girlfriend and me would love to explore. This is going to be fun! Hoping to take some amazing photos.

I will be gone for about 2.5 weeks. Same as before I took a lot of photos in advance which I set up to be released at 9:30pm. Please feel free to drop a comment and like the images. I will be online from time to time to double check if everything is going fine.

I was on Achter De Kerk looking around for a good shot. It is really nice over there and I was there for the first time. I found this entrance that caught my attention. I first took a shot to check how are the shadows and how much of ISO will be needed for the shot. Kind of a test shot so that I could determine the right settings. I had no tripod so I was pushing the ISO a little higher than I actually wanted, but I think it came out very clean. I like it and wanted to share it with you…Hope you like it too, please let me know if you do…

317/365 Limbricht Part 2

Limbricht Part 2

This is a second shot I like a lot from Limbricht. It’s a great place to take images. This time I didn’t have tripod with me and it was getting darker every minute. I wasn’t sure how it’s going to turn out with ISO that high. I didn’t wanted to have too grainy image so I went with f/6.1, but slightly higher shutter speed. Just enough so that I can hold it the camera in my hands and still have sharp images. I have to say that I end up with 10 images ranging from zero to -2 stops, so quite a bit of a aperture difference and very underexposed. Especially the right side of the image was darker. I knew that I can easily correct 1.5 stop difference in Lightroom so I wasn’t concerned about that. The problem was grain from higher ISO. I cleaned it up using noise reduction tool from imagenomic which worked great. After reducing the noise I used unsharp mask filter in Photoshop to bring back some of the lost details…

At the end I end up with quite a descent image…Next time with tripod and remote control…

Katholieke Kerk Sittard Limbrichterveld, Pauluskerk

Just recently when I went to Limbricht, I found this church which I never knew existed. Kind of hidden from the main road. It’s standing there between block of flats. I jumped over the fence to have a better view and took few images.

Combined from 8 images I think it came out nice…Please let me know what you think…

315/365 Sint Rosa Festival – Center

Sint Rosa Festival – Center

Here is a shot from Sint Rosa Festival I took on the way to Gruizenkerk after I had a short brake to get some food. In the video, you can see that the original image has a different sky. I liked that image a lot, but the sky was too ”all over the place” which I didn’t like at all. I thought more about a calm sky. The kind of when it’s a beautiful evening with very soft clouds and no wind. I wanted to make something like that.

First I combined those images into a panorama as you can see in the video. Then send it back to Lightroom for double editing to boost the image. After sending it back to Photoshop I started with replacing the sky. It is a long boring, time consuming process, but the result is almost always worth it.

You can see me playing with different sky images as I’m trying to figure it out which would fit best. At the third try I was happy and really liked that soft look the image had. Also the colors fitted much better. When that was done I cleaned some rubbish from the ground, polished the image and was ready to do the final steps like watermark the image and resizing.

Please watch the video so that you can get the idea.

Limbricht

Yesterday after the exhibition I wanted to relax somewhere and I thought about Limbricht as a perfect place to sit on one of the benches and watch the sunset. It was amazing to sit there and do nothing haha. Later on I took some images from the area and on the way home I stopped here at the entrance. I immediately thought of taking an image of the whole building/entrance. First and second try didn’t work out and I thought I will have to forget it, but then third try was perfect. I ended up with 17 vertical images which I then later stitched into one panorama. I was a good evening!

Also I took few images at the Gruizenkerk and turned them into black and white…I think they look amazing in b&w…Feel free to have a look…
