Sittard Prison

I remember walking around this complex few times before I have chosen from where I will take a shot. At first I thought this is going to be a disaster because of the wall that surrounds this prison. Also when you say prison, people like to connect the word with negative emotions, so I wasn’t sure if to go for it, or not. As I was going around, I was thinking how can I make a picture of this more pleasant, if not beautiful.

I found this spot that worked for me. I liked the position of the Sun and how the path was interacting with the wall. I decided to do a panorama so that later I could cut chunks that were not important and trim the image to how I like it…

I spent there ages to figure it out the best settings possible to not overexposed the sky and balance the foreground just right. I think this was the most challenging image I have done since I started this project…May not be the best image, but I have learned a lot!!!

If you like it, please let me know…
