St Peter’s Church In Sittard At Sunrise

I said this before and would say it again that the most interesting time to take photographs is at sunrise and around sunset. When the golden hour (also known as magic hour) approaches something interesting happens. The sun is low in the sky, producing a soft, diffused light which is much more flattering than the harsh midday sun. You will end up with less contrast and the long shadows helps to pick up out details, adding depth and texture to your  images.  In other words making your pictures look better.

Here are couple of tips to shoot at dawn and dusk.

1) Use a tripod

2) Get up earlier to have more time to set up your camera

3) Shoot like crazy! Shoot more! Never stop shooting

4) Use graduated ND filters

5) Take torch with you

6) Take your time and enjoy!

Shooting during the golden hour is without a doubt the best thing you can do to improve your outdoor photography. At first this may be difficult for those who would rather stay in bed, but let me tell it’s worth to sacrifice. Give it a go and thank me later. You will see how this is going to improve your photography.
