Energy Electric Power Plant
There are few great spots in Geleen which I didn’t knew existed! I was there the other day and somehow I ended up on Veeweg going to the local park. Beautiful place with a pond and fields…I got there just before sunset. The Sky was turning orange. I stopped in the middle of a little path that goes back to the city and wanted to take a shot of this energy electric power plant.
From some of my previous attempts I knew that taking multiple shots of the scene similar to this one could be incredibly challenging! Last time I tried to take a panorama of a similar thing, the cables were all over the place, just not where they supposed to be haha.
So I took a different approach. I did the vertical panorama from left to the right with a zoom lens (Sony 55-210mm)…Something I have never tried before. I took 18 shots. See down below:
Straight after it I looked at back at my LCD screen to double check it and I loved it. The zoom lens punched on some really nice details and gave the picture different feel than with a wide angle lens. I did swap my lens for the wide angle at the end and tried it with that. The picture end it up good, but the subject looked so tiny and far away in a distance…
Editing this image quite easy. I used the same workflow and it worked fine. I’m happy that the cables came out perfect. Probably the biggest thing that made the difference was how I was holding the camera. I locked my elbows against my belly and when I was going from left to right I was rotating the camera rather then my whole body. Also I’ve chosen the top of the tower to be my level and I locked onto it while going from left to the right.
But anyway I like this picture a lot, I hope you do too. Please let me know if you do…
